During my 12 week princes trust experience I met many great and ambitious people, the first of which was Matt Jarvis. When I met matt I had no idea what I was getting myself into, all I knew was that I was going to be on a course with a whole variety of different people with mixed interests attitudes and personalities. I now have two jobs one of which I got and managed to do whilst I was participating in my princes trust team, since I started that job ive been promoted due to my good team leadership skills. My second job I got a few months after princes trust, between that time I have been involved with the RNLI in Ilfracombe, and the NCS South West which is basicly a cut down course of what the princes trust is but with a few different activities, this course was designed for students who had just left college and it was an easy was to gain a little more life experience and give them an outlook into the world of work, my involvement with this course included local promotion which I managed to get a slot in the local radio station The Voice I then went away with short notice to Exmouth for the week where I stood alongside the youth workers and team leaders assisting with different aspects of the course, there where groups from all over the country all in one place working together as a team, I would recommend any of these courses to anyone who was aged 16 upwards as I think both of these courses give you the opportunity to do something new and exciting, I’d like to say a big thanks to Matt Jarvis and his team working from Torridge Training Services as I don’t know where I would be today if it wasn’t for the great opportunity that I was given back in march when I was just out of college and had no job and wasn’t quite sure what I wanted to do with myself. Im currently working towards a Youth Achievement Scheme which has many different levels of certification, ive already completed bronze and as of the new year will be working hard on my silver award.
